                    Figure of Speech

A figure of speech is a creative way of using words to make language more interesting and expressive. It includes comparing two things (simile, metaphor), exaggerating (hyperbole), or giving human qualities to nonhuman things (personification). Figures of speech make poems more colorful and alive.
